The Essentials

Our Mission
We are dedicated to fostering ocean stewardship by creating meaningful, lasting connections between people and the sea. Our programs offer interactive, supportive, and engaging ocean-based learning experiences that emphasize boating and water safety. Through hands-on instruction, students build confidence on the water, develop practical lifelong skills, and gain a deep respect for ocean conservation and protection.
By intentionally including underserved students, we ensure that everyone has access to opportunities for community engagement, environmental stewardship, personal growth, and empowerment through safe, enriching experiences on and around the water.
Our Objectives
– Create inclusive, experiential learning environments for students of all ages, backgrounds, and socioeconomic levels that promote personal growth and ocean stewardship.
– Integrate Next Generation Science Standards and Ocean Literacy Principles into all educational programs.
– Encourage public interest and participation in local ocean waters through sailing, power and paddle craft boating, angling, and other marine activities.
– Support accessible, affordable facilities that expand opportunities for the community to learn and explore on the ocean.
– Build strong partnerships with local businesses, aquariums, and community organizations to enhance our programs and broaden our impact.
